Disability Training and Research Center

The Disability Training and Research Center at Shumua Al-Amal Special Education and Rehabilitation Complex is a specialized center that provides training services in various fields of education and rehabilitation for individuals with disabilities, in addition to scientific research in the fields of disability sciences and rehabilitation.

The center focuses on developing the skills and enhancing the capabilities of those working with individuals with disabilities, including specialists, caregivers, and families, through a variety of programs and activities designed to achieve this goal.

The main tasks of the center include:

• Training the Staff: The center offers training and development courses for the complex’s staff, improving their skills in dealing with different types of disabilities and providing the necessary care.

• Training for Specialists and Interested Parties: The center provides training courses aimed at enhancing the skills of specialists and new graduates in various special education fields and related disciplines.

• Training for Families of People with Disabilities: The center aims to provide training and awareness programs that raise awareness among families and develop their abilities to deal properly with their children with disabilities.

• Research and Studies: The center conducts research and studies in various disability sciences with the goal of improving educational and rehabilitation strategies and developing innovative methods for dealing with challenges faced by individuals with disabilities and ways to teach and rehabilitate them.

• Community Awareness: The center seeks to increase public awareness about disability issues and how to support individuals with disabilities.

Center Facilities

The center is equipped with three training halls, each furnished with the latest equipment to suit various training events, as follows:

• Hall A: 260 square meters, accommodates 150 people, and is equipped for lectures, seminars, and panel discussions.

• Hall B: 130 square meters, accommodates 40 people, and is equipped for workshops and practical training courses.

• Hall C: 50 square meters, accommodates 20 people, and is equipped for specialized training courses and scientific meetings.
